The API Ammonia Test Kit (by API (Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Inc.)) is one of the most commonly used freshwater and saltwater aquarium test kits for measuring ammonia (NH₃ / NH₄⁺) levels in tank water.

 

🧪 What it tests

It measures:

  • Total ammonia (toxic + less toxic forms)
  • Range: typically 0 – 8.0 ppm

Ammonia is the #1 toxic compound in new tanks and during fish/coral stress events.
